The young minds at Keller had the opportunity to participate and exhibit their engineering excellence in the 9th edition of the Indian Young Geotechnical Engineering Conference.
Organized by Marathwada Institute of Technology Aurangabad, Indian Geotechnical Society & Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, the event saw a confluence of industry professionals & students - interacting & exchanging ideas on various Geotechnical Engineering topics.
The Conference also invited young practicing engineers to submit research papers on various ground improvement subjects. Mihir Raje, our senior geotechnical engineer based in the Mumbai office, won the Best Paper Award under the theme Advanced Ground Improvement Techniques.
Mihir's paper explored liquefaction mitigation using vibro sand columns. "Winning the award for Best Paper was indeed a pleasurable experience," says Mihir. The feeling was complimented by the fact that we were able to inculcate curiosity about geotechnical challenges in the young engineers about to join the industry.
Our trainee engineers, Shreya Hokam and Anupriya Singh, had their share of the spotlight too. Their papers on "Parametric study on selection of appropriate support systems for deep excavation in urban areas" and "Soil interpretation - Standard Penetration Test vs Electric Cone Penetration Test" were well received by the panelists.
Keller's strength lies in its consistent efforts to employ sustainable foundation solutions through new & innovative techniques that best serve the client.
